I had Lorena take care of our son Marcus during my stay in Buenos Aires for the Tango Mundial, and she was absolutely wonderful! Lorena was so reliable and professional - always on time and well-prepared. What really stood out was how quickly Marcus bonded with her. She has such a warm, caring personality and really knows how to connect with kids. Marcus was always happy and engaged when I picked him up. She kept me updated throughout the day with messages and photos, which gave me such peace of mind while I was out. Lorena is trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely loves working with children - you can tell this isn't just a job for her. I felt completely comfortable leaving Marcus in her care and would definitely hire Lorena again if I'm ever back in Buenos Aires. Highly recommend her to any English speaking family in Buenos Aires!

First things first – message the prospective babysitter or nanny about any past childcare experience they may have, and ask about references from prior families. Then you can check in with the other parents to see what their impression was of the sitter.

Next, come up with a list of questions that will help you determine if the sitter will be a good match for your family’s needs. First, you should make sure to comply with the minimum wage or hourly rate, established by law. Additionally, each babysitter’s rate is determined by several factors – including their level of experience, the number of kids who need looking after, and how far they need to travel for the job.

In order to come up with an appropriate rate, you should first take into account the minimum wage for your area. Then, you might consider offering a higher rate of pay to keep things fair if you’re asking for any help with things like tutoring or chores around the house - or if you know your kids can be a handful for even the most patient of sitters!
